Step into a contract position where your expertise will be vital to an entire district, serving as the sole Certified School Nurse while collaborating closely with a supportive team of Registered Nurses.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Educator’s License in Illinois with Certified School Nurse Endorsement required
  • RN or CSN with strong clinical skills, school health knowledge, and commitment to student well-being
  • Experience with hearing and vision screenings in educational settings
  • Ability to update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and health plans for diverse student needs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly valued

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mandated hearing and vision screenings for students across the district
  • Maintain and update IEPs and health care plans to ensure all students receive necessary care and accommodations
  • Serve as the primary CSN for the district, bringing leadership and expertise to health services
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated team of Registered Nurses to deliver coordinated student health support
  • Act as a liaison between families, educational staff, and medical professionals to promote student safety and academic success
  • Participate in district meetings and provide training or health education as needed
