School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Chicago, Illinois

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Active RN license required; school nursing experience highly desirable
• Prior experience providing healthcare in a school or pediatric setting
• Knowledge of common childhood illnesses, chronic conditions, and emergency response protocols
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and health education to students, including medication administration, first aid, and chronic disease management
• Conduct health assessments, develop care plans, and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and parents to support student well-being
• Respond to health emergencies and coordinate with outside medical providers as needed
• Promote a healthy, safe, and supportive school environment
