School Registered Nurse (RN) in Chula Vista, CA

Step into a vital role serving students and staff as a district-wide RN/CSN for the 26/27 school year. You’ll collaborate across multiple school sites, providing essential healthcare expertise while shaping a safe, supportive school environment. This contract opportunity offers flexibility with a preferred 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM schedule, with the possibility to increase to 37.5–40 hours per week based on district needs.

Skills and Experience Sought:

• Current California RN license required; Clear CSN preferred (Preliminary CSN or RN candidates will also be considered)
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric care highly beneficial
• Ability to confidently train and support health clerks, especially regarding diabetes management and implementation of Individual Health Plans (IHPs)
• Strong communication skills for effective consultation with staff, students, and families
• Organizational skills to manage documentation and coordinate care for multiple school sites

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide and train school health clerks on addressing student medical needs, including ongoing diabetes management and adhering to IHPs
• Deliver district-wide medical consultations, review student health records, and provide direct care when necessary
• Collaborate with educators and families to support overall student well-being
• Ensure compliance with school health regulations and update protocols as appropriate
