School Registered Nurse (RN) in Cicero, IL

Key Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution preferred
• Prior experience working in a school setting is advantageous
• Strong abilities in crisis response and emergency medical care
• Proficiency in specialized procedures, such as g-tube feedings
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in caring for medically fragile students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and provide direct nursing care for up to 13 medically fragile students, with a current caseload of 6
• Collaborate with a skilled nursing team to provide comprehensive healthcare support at the high school
• Respond rapidly to medical emergencies and manage crisis situations with confidence
• Administer medications, conduct health assessments, and execute physician-ordered medical procedures
• Maintain detailed, confidential health records in accordance with school policies and state regulations
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students and staff

This position offers a consistent weekday schedule from 7:30am to 3:45pm, including a lunch break, and the chance to work alongside experienced healthcare colleagues—giving you both support and collaboration in your daily practice.
