This contract opportunity involves working closely with an 8th-grade student, supporting their health needs both during school hours and on their daily bus rides. As a Registered Nurse, you'll make a meaningful impact by ensuring safety, comfort, and continuous care for a child with diverse medical needs.
What You'll Bring:
- Current, active RN license
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Confidence in providing care for complex needs, including ventilator support, G-tube management, skin integrity, and brittle bone conditions
- Ability to work compassionately with nonverbal students—this child communicates with an iPad
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Professionalism and commitment to patient dignity
Key Responsibilities:
- Ride to and from school on the bus with the student, ensuring medical safety
- Remain with the student throughout the school day, addressing medical needs as required
- Administer medications, tube feedings, and monitor respiratory support
- Support mobility and transfers with attention to fragile bones
- Maintain accurate and detailed nursing documentation
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to provide an inclusive and supportive environment
