Job Type Contract

Step into a meaningful role where you’ll make a daily impact as a Registered Nurse supporting a high school student. This contract opportunity runs through the 2026-27 school year and involves working closely with a student who is paralyzed but cognitively high functioning. Your expertise will ensure their safety, comfort, and full participation in school life. With this unique position, you will be on a 1:1 assignment and become an integral part of a student’s academic journey.

What you’ll bring:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience providing care in a school or pediatric setting
  • Familiarity with caring for students with physical disabilities
  • Confidence managing complex care needs independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with students, teachers, and families
  • Ability and willingness to accompany the student on the school bus daily

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering dedicated 1:1 medical support and monitoring for a high school student throughout the school day and during bus transportation
  • Providing individualized care as outlined in the student’s health plan
  • Ensuring medication administration, safety protocols, and daily care are followed with professionalism and compassion
  • Maintaining clear documentation and communication with educational staff and healthcare providers
  • Fostering a positive, collaborative environment to support the student’s learning and engagement

Enjoy a consistent 30-hour work week and the perk of having Wednesdays off, as the student does not attend school that day. If you are looking for a contract position that offers both daily variety and the fulfillment that comes from supporting a student’s success, consider bringing your skills to this vital role.
