Qualifications & Experience:
- Active CNA certification required
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations, especially in school or pediatric settings, is highly preferred
- Ability to manage tracheostomy care, including suctioning, monitoring, and emergency response
- Knowledgeable in infection control protocols and universal precautions
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, educational staff, and families
- CPR certification (current)
- Patient, empathetic, and attentive to the needs of children
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated, one-on-one care for a first grade student, ensuring safety at all times during the school day
- Perform regular assessments and trach-related interventions as needed
- Monitor the student’s overall health, responding promptly to changes or emergencies
- Collaborate with nursing, teaching, and administrative staff to coordinate care and establish a supportive routine
- Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, observations, and communications in accordance with school policies and regulations
- Serve as an advocate for the student’s well-being, encouraging their participation in academic and social activities
