You'll play an essential role supporting student health, both as a 1:1 nurse and in a floating capacity for a supportive school community. With the school year beginning on August 27, 2026, and running through June 11, 2027, your expertise will promote wellness, safety, and positive learning experiences for students.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Rhode Island
- Prior pediatric, school, or community health nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Valid driver’s license and readiness to ride the bus with students if needed
- Ability to respond promptly and adaptively in dynamic school settings
- Experience with individualized healthcare plans and emergency care measures
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct care and health monitoring for an assigned student (1:1 nurse) and as a floating nurse as required
- Provide medication administration, treatments, and routine health procedures in accordance with healthcare plans
- Collaborate with school staff, family, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated student care and safety
- Support students on the bus as assigned, ensuring medical needs are met during transit
- Maintain clear, accurate health records in compliance with school protocols
- Participate in health education, promote wellness, and contribute to school health initiatives
