School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Cranston, Rhode Island

A school is seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate care and expertise in a supportive educational environment through the end of this academic year. This contract opportunity offers you a private nurse’s office on campus, where you will act as a trusted healthcare provider for adolescents, supporting their physical well-being so they can thrive in their studies.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid RN license or Certified School Nurse credential recognized by the state of Rhode Island
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred
• Able to effectively assess, triage, and treat students with a variety of health concerns
• Proficient in medication administration and documentation
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
• Ability to work independently in a busy school setting

Responsibilities:

• Operate the campus health office, providing direct nursing care to students who feel unwell or are injured
• Administer prescription and non-prescription medications in accordance with district guidelines
• Maintain confidential health records and ensure all documentation is completed accurately
• Communicate and collaborate with school staff, parents, and community healthcare providers as needed
• Monitor chronic health conditions and provide first aid or emergency care when required
• Educate students and staff about wellness, hygiene, and health promotion
