Exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse seeking a contract role in a supportive school environment north of Durham! This full-time RN assignment partners you 1:1 with a compassionate 5th-grade student in need of specialized care. You’ll make a meaningful impact each day while working a steady schedule from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm.

The student is non-verbal and nearly blind, requiring skilled support with a gastrostomy tube and ongoing respiratory monitoring. As an essential member of the school community, you’ll champion this student’s health and comfort throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in North Carolina
• Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred
• Confident with g-tube care and respiratory monitoring
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and families
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, especially supporting non-verbal individuals
• Strong clinical judgment and quick problem-solving skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant 1:1 care for a 5th-grade student with specialized health needs
• Perform g-tube feedings and respiratory assessments
• Assist with safe mobility around the school environment
• Maintain detailed health records and communicate updates to guardians and staff
• Support classroom participation and accommodate health or sensory needs
• Respond promptly to health emergencies or changes in condition
