School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Crown Point, Indiana

Step into a vital role as a General School Nurse, providing compassionate care to a close-knit group of approximately 100 students at a specialized school setting. This full-time contract position covers a maternity leave beginning December or January and runs Monday through Friday, from 7:35 am to 3:20 pm.

As a Registered Nurse in a school environment, you'll ensure students' health, safety, and well-being while collaborating with staff and families to support individual health needs and foster a positive learning environment.

What You'll Bring:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
• Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergencies
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding students’ health privacy

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care, including medication administration, first aid, and management of chronic health conditions
• Maintain accurate health records for all students
• Collaborate with faculty and parents to create care plans for students with special needs or medical conditions
• Promote health education and advocate for student wellness across the school
• Respond promptly to urgent situations, supporting students and staff as needed
• Track immunizations and communicate with families about health requirements
