School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Des Plaines, Illinois

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
• Prior experience working with children or within school settings preferred
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in trauma or emergency situations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily health screenings for students and staff
• Administer medications and medical treatments in accordance with physician instructions and parental consent
• Manage and document student health records, immunizations, and incident reports
• Provide care during illnesses or minor injuries and coordinate with families regarding student health needs
• Collaborate with teachers and administration to support individualized health plans and health education initiatives
• Promote wellness initiatives and serve as a resource for health-related concerns within the school community
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local health regulations at all times
