School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Dorchester, Massachusetts

Step into a meaningful part-time opportunity supporting a spirited 3-year-old student in a school-based setting. This contract position offers a rewarding experience for a dedicated RN or LPN, starting ASAP and continuing through June 30, 2026, with potential for summer work and renewal for the next school year. With just one opening available, you will provide essential care and companionship during van rides to and from Blocks pre-school and ensure the student’s well-being while onsite.

What’s Needed:

• Active MA RN or LPN license
• Direct school-based nursing experience required
• Proficiency in tracheostomy and pediatric ventilator management
• Experience working with young children strongly preferred
• Availability for Mondays and Fridays only
• Ability to complete CORI and fingerprinting background checks
• Willingness to complete a virtual Zoom interview
• Compassion, adaptability, and clear communication skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Accompany the student on van rides before and after school
• Monitor and support the student’s medical needs, including trach and ventilator care (ventilator required only when student is sick)
• Maintain vigilance and create a safe, supportive environment for a highly active, ambulatory child
• Collaborate with school staff and transportation providers to ensure seamless transitions and care continuity
• Assist with routine health checks and respond promptly to any emergent medical situations
• Complete necessary documentation in accordance with school policies
