This part-time, contract opportunity is tailored for experienced school nurses who are confident with specialized care and appreciate a predictable, focused weekly assignment. You’ll work exclusively on Fridays, aligning with the school calendar from late August through mid-June, ensuring consistent care and support for a student living with Diabetes Insipidus.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license or nurse certification required
- Experience in a school-based nursing role
- Confident providing care to students with chronic health conditions
- Proficient in monitoring signs and symptoms associated with sodium imbalances
- Reliable transportation for consistent onsite presence
- Availability to work onsite Fridays, 8:30am–3pm, with no schedule accommodations
- Comfortable assisting a student who uses a wheelchair (student can toilet independently)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the student’s fluid intake
- Offer mobility assistance and accompany the student to restroom as needed
- Administer and document the noon medication dose
- Remain vigilant in recognizing early symptoms of sodium level irregularities
- Foster a safe and supportive environment in collaboration with school staff
