Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active RN license in the state of Delaware (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Previous experience as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and address urgent medical needs promptly
• Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to the unique rhythm of an academic calendar

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care for students including assessment, intervention, and follow-up for illnesses and injuries
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor student health plans
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic conditions
• Maintain accurate health records in compliance with state and school policies
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical support as needed
• Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and external health professionals to ensure comprehensive student care
• Promote a safe and healthy school environment through education and preventive care initiatives
