A skilled Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to support a K-12 school district with a specialized education program in Edison, NJ. This full-time, contract position offers an engaging environment where nursing expertise directly contributes to student health and safety. The role requires flexibility and travel between multiple school locations within the district, including Maywood and Lodi campuses, supporting students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general school nurse duties as the District Float RN, providing healthcare services across multiple schools.
  • Administer medications and treatments following protocols.
  • Conduct health screenings and respond to student health needs promptly.
  • Accompany students on field trips, including riding the bus, ensuring proper medical oversight.
  • Serve as a health resource for staff and students, maintaining thorough health records.
  • Travel regularly between the Maywood and Lodi campuses to provide consistent nursing care.

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required; Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) will not be considered.
  • Comfortable conducting in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
  • Experience in school nursing or pediatric care is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to an itinerant schedule.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism in dealing with students, staff, and families.

Work Schedule and Location:

  • Full time, 31.25 hours per week.
  • Monday through Friday.
  • Maywood Campus hours: 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
  • Lodi Campus hours: 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • Itinerant role requiring travel among district sites.

This contract position lasts from ASAP through June 23, 2026.
