School Registered Nurse (RN) in Edison, NJ

Make a difference this school year by supporting students’ health and well-being in a dynamic educational setting. A full-time Registered Nurse is needed for a contract assignment from September 1, 2026, through July 22, 2027. This role is key in caring for K-12 students with emotional regulation challenges, providing essential health services onsite every weekday.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM, totaling 30-32 hours per week.

Preferred Background and Skills:

• Valid RN license and current CPR certification.
• Prior experience as a pediatric nurse and/or as a psychiatric nurse.
• Confident working in a school environment with K-12 students.
• Skilled at administering medications and monitoring side effects.
• Ability to perform post-restraint evaluations with compassion and professionalism.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, fostering trust and support among students, staff, and families.
• Calm, approachable demeanor in challenging situations.

Core Responsibilities:

• Administer daily medications and manage prescription protocols.
• Conduct timely post-restraint health assessments and interventions as needed.
• Monitor and respond to students’ health concerns throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement care strategies for students with emotional and behavioral needs.
• Document all care provided and maintain accurate student health records in accordance with school policies.
• Serve as a positive, caring resource for students who require guidance with emotional regulation.
