Step into a hands-on nursing role supporting K-12 students with emotional regulation challenges at a vibrant school community near Edison, NJ. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated educators and positively impact young lives each day. You’ll work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm, for the 2026-2027 school year.
We are seeking a compassionate and confident RN with both pediatric and/or psychiatric experience. Your clinical expertise, paired with a natural ability to connect with children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral hurdles, will make a real difference throughout the academic year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Demonstrated pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing experience.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school, behavioral health, or similar setting.
- Confident conducting post-restraint evaluations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Skilled in medication administration and documentation.
- Strong relationship-building abilities with students, staff, and families.
- Comfort and familiarity working in K-12 environments.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer daily medications to students as prescribed.
- Conduct post-restraint health assessments, ensuring student safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student health plans.
- Manage health records professionally and confidentially.
- Serve as a trusted resource for students with emotional regulation impairments, supporting their ability to thrive in the classroom.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment, helping students navigate daily challenges and build resilience.
