School Registered Nurse (RN) in Elgin, IL

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state
• Experience as a school nurse or with pediatric nursing preferred
• Familiarity with school health policies and protocols
• Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently during student health emergencies
• CPR/BLS certification required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency treatment to students and staff as needed
• Administer medications and manage care for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies)
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individual health plans and promote student wellness
• Support and educate students on injury prevention, hygiene, and health management
• Monitor immunizations and communicate requirements to families
• Participate in health screenings and assist with school-wide health initiatives
