Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Current Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse endorsement.
- Familiarity with school nursing practices, especially regarding medication administration and health action plans.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to conduct thorough audits.
- Experience in reviewing and managing student health files is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee campus-level completion of health-related tasks and ensure adherence to policies.
- Conduct regular reviews of student files, verifying that all documentation (especially doctor’s orders for medication administration) is current.
- Perform audits of all medications being administered on campus, evaluating quantities and expiration dates.
- Carefully review seizure, allergy, and asthma action plans to confirm compliance and guarantee access to necessary, up-to-date medications.
- Act as a resource to campus teams, supporting best practices in student health management.
