Key Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license required (no LPNs)
• Prior experience working as a nurse within a school setting

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver professional nursing care, including first aid, emergency response, and illness assessment to students and staff
• Administer prescribed medications following proper documentation and safety protocols
• Collaborate with the Certified School Nurse on wellness initiatives and health office operations
• Support the development and management of student care plans (e.g., allergy, asthma, seizure action plans)
• Maintain health office hygiene and readiness, including AED monitoring and reporting maintenance needs
• Accurately document medical records to meet state and district requirements, such as immunizations and physicals
• Serve as a mandated reporter, making referrals as necessary for suspected abuse or neglect
