Make a real impact by supporting a preschool student with complex medical needs in a part-time, contract opportunity. You'll work 1:1 with a child requiring a G-tube, trach, and ventilator, ensuring safety and care during their school day, from home pick-up through the bus ride, in-class support, and return home. The role runs August 18, 2026, through May 28, 2027, following a Tuesday–Friday schedule with hours from approximately 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in Illinois is required.
- Demonstrated experience managing G-tube, tracheostomy, and ventilator care.
- Prior critical care background is highly valued.
- Experience working with pediatric or preschool-aged patients is preferred.
- Ability to provide reliable transportation to and from Wheaton, IL (ensure this location works for you prior to applying).
- Must be prepared to include your RN license/certification details and a current resume with your application.
- LPNs are not eligible for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Meet the student at their residence daily at 12:30 PM and accompany them on the bus to school.
- Provide continuous RN-level care throughout the school afternoon, addressing any medical needs.
- Ensure safety and accurate documentation of all nursing interventions.
- Ride home on the bus with the student, overseeing their well-being until arrival back at their home around 4:00 PM.
- Serve as a compassionate support and health safeguard for a young learner.
