Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New Jersey, clear and in good standing
- Prior experience providing nursing services in a school or youth-focused setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking capabilities
- Familiarity with common pediatric conditions, medication administration, and emergency response
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and education professionals
- Ability to manage confidential student health information
- Flexibility, reliability, and a collaborative spirit
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff during school hours
- Develop, maintain, and update individual health care plans for students with medical needs
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
- Educate students and staff on wellness, hygiene, and chronic disease management
- Oversee state-mandated screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and health documentation
- Respond promptly to illness, injury, and potential medical emergencies
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, parents, and healthcare providers in coordinated care
- Ensure compliance with all school and state-specific health regulations and policies
