Registered Nurse School Setting - Elizabeth, NJ

This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to support a medically fragile kindergarten student on a 1:1 basis throughout the school year, with a strong possibility of continuing into the Extended School Year (ESY).

Working Monday through Friday from 7:50 am/8:00 am to 3:00 pm, you’ll be an essential part of this student’s daily school experience, including supporting them during bus rides to and from the campus. Your specialized skills will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of a young learner who is wheelchair-bound and requires advanced medical care, including g-tube feeding and medication administration.

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN, LPN, or LVN license in the state
• Prior experience providing direct care to medically fragile children in a school or pediatric setting
• Strong proficiency in g-tube management and medication administration
• Compassionate, patient, and flexible attitude
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with staff and families
• Comfortable accompanying the student on daily school bus routes

Responsibilities:

• Deliver customized 1:1 nursing care for a kindergarten student with medical complexities
• Monitor health status and address emergencies or concerns promptly
• Manage daily g-tube feedings and medication schedules
• Maintain accurate health documentation and communicate updates to school personnel and parents
• Facilitate a safe and supportive environment in the classroom, on the bus, and during school activities
