An immediate opportunity is available for a registered nurse to provide essential care and supervision for a student requiring transportation assistance. The assignment involves supporting a student with type 1 diabetes who needs close monitoring of sugar levels during transit to and from a short-term placement in Lancaster. This contract role is ideal for someone committed to specialized, one-on-one nursing care in a school-related environment and is able to reliably cover split shifts.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license, with experience in school nursing preferred
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and care for students with chronic health conditions, particularly diabetes
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, guardians, and healthcare providers
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to covering the required split shifts
• Comfortable with providing continual supervision and quick clinical assessment during transit

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ride with and supervise the student during transportation to and from the placement, ensuring health and safety are maintained at all times
• Monitor and manage blood sugar levels as needed, including responding to any diabetic emergencies
• Maintain accurate documentation of all care provided during transit
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource for transportation staff regarding the student’s condition
• Communicate promptly with school staff and family regarding any health-related concerns
