Essential Qualifications:

• Current RN license valid in California
• Previous experience in pediatric, school-based, or community nursing preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
• Ability to communicate compassionately with students, families, and educational staff
• Skilled in documenting health information and maintaining thorough records
• Flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads and diverse health needs within a school community
• Current CPR certification
• Commitment to upholding high standards of patient care and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform health assessments for students, addressing acute and chronic conditions
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and first aid as necessary
• Provide emergency care and develop care plans for students with specialized needs
• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to support students’ overall well-being
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state health requirements
• Educate students and staff about health practices, disease prevention, and wellness
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed
• Support public health initiatives, screenings, and immunization efforts within the school
