This assignment will require you to begin onboarding on July 20th, with the overall duration of 2-3 months, depending on the needs of the employee on leave. As the school nurse, you will apply your skills and care to two modern charter campuses, promoting wellness and providing essential nursing services each day.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Illinois
- Prior experience in a school-based, pediatric, or community health setting preferred
- Knowledge of standard school nursing practices, immunizations, and health screenings
- Ability to manage confidential student health records and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Flexibility to support multiple school locations as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver routine and emergency health care for students and staff
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Conduct health assessments and screenings, maintaining up-to-date documentation
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families for individualized student care plans
- Respond to illness or injuries, evaluating when further medical intervention is necessary
- Promote healthy habits and provide health education resources
