You’ll work closely with a 3-year-old student who has a tracheostomy and occasionally requires a ventilator when ill. The child is active and ambulatory, adding a joyful dynamic to your clinical skills. Your primary responsibilities involve riding the school van to and from Blocks Preschool with the student, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.
The schedule focuses on Mondays and Fridays, offering a balanced workload that is perfect for someone seeking flexibility. Summer employment options are available, and there is potential for contract renewal into the next school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN license in Massachusetts (MA)
- Proven experience in a school-based setting
- Strong airway management experience, ideally with tracheostomy and ventilator support
- Completion of the CORI and fingerprinting process required
- Able to participate in a Zoom interview
- Not accepting CNA or Medical Assistant credentials for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely accompany an active student on van transport to and from school
- Provide competent care and monitoring during transit, responding to any medical needs
- Communicate effectively with school staff and family regarding the child’s care
- Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with school and state protocols
