Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse eager to make a meaningful impact in a high school setting. This role involves a 1:1 caseload supporting a student diagnosed with Diabetes Insipidus, requiring specialized attention and consistent care throughout the school day. The assignment begins August 26th and concludes June 15th, offering a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitor fluid intake to support the student’s specific medical needs.
  • Assist the student with restroom breaks, providing wheelchair support and ambulation as needed while respecting the student’s independence in toileting.
  • Administer a scheduled noon medication and vigilantly monitor for any signs or symptoms of sodium imbalance.
  • Collaborate with the Perkins School for the Blind team on the student’s care; meet the student at the school each day.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active, current RN license/certification for working in school environments.
  • Previous experience in school-based nursing; 1:1 support experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Diabetes Insipidus and the distinction from Diabetes Type 1.
  • Reliable transportation is required—the role has an in-person schedule with consistent daily hours: 8:30am-3pm (M/T/Th/F) and 8:30am-2pm on Wednesdays.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to set schedules; flexibility for accommodations is not available for this role.
