School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Gloucester, Virginia

Key Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN or LPN/LVN license
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
• Strong assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to handle a variety of health concerns, from minor injuries to chronic conditions
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and adaptable to a dynamic school environment
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Proficiency in documentation and maintaining health records
• Commitment to student safety, confidentiality, and inclusivity

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide daily health assessments and care for students and staff
• Administer medications and perform routine treatments as prescribed
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and implement first aid measures
• Manage chronic health conditions, collaborating with families and school personnel
• Conduct health screenings, immunization reviews, and maintain accurate health files
• Educate students and staff on health and wellness, promoting healthy lifestyle choices
• Support IEP and 504 plan implementation for children with specific medical needs
• Adhere to all school policies and serve as a health resource within the community
