Registered Nurse School Setting in Grand Rapids, MI

This contract position is an essential role for a compassionate RN or LPN with the specialized skills needed to care for a vent and trach-dependent student. Your clinical expertise and nurturing demeanor will directly contribute to a student’s wellbeing and access to education, making a meaningful difference each day.

Preferred candidates will have:

• Current, active RN or LPN license in Michigan
• Pediatric experience, especially with ventilator or tracheostomy care
• Confidence in independent clinical decision-making and emergency response
• Experience or willingness to assist with bus transportation
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and other care providers
• Dependability and a patient-centered approach

Primary responsibilities include:

• Providing direct nursing care to the assigned student throughout the school day, including on the bus to and from school
• Monitoring and managing all trach and ventilator needs, interventions, and documentation
• Responding swiftly to any medical emergencies or changes in condition
• Collaborating with education and health staff to ensure comprehensive support
• Arriving to the student’s home each morning at 8am, traveling with the student to and from school, and concluding the day around 4pm
• Maintaining a calm, reassuring presence for the student across various settings
