Exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to support a student in an educational setting for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract position provides the chance to make a significant impact through 1:1 care, beginning in mid- or late August and concluding June 11th. Prior to the school year, you’ll have the opportunity for two to three home visits to meet the student and become familiar with their specific medical needs.
The primary responsibilities will involve trusted care for a student whose central medical concern is respiratory health, including regular suctioning and ongoing monitoring. You will also be alert to seizure activity and responsible for administering prescribed medications when necessary. The role also includes providing custodial care, such as changing, with the assistance of a hoyer lift and additional paraprofessional support.
Who thrives in this role:
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the state
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric patients preferred
- Confident with respiratory interventions, including suctioning
- Comfortable with seizure protocols and medication administration
- Skilled in custodial care and the use of assistive equipment like a hoyer lift
- Empathetic, patient, and flexible in adapting to the changing needs of students
Key duties:
- Provide attentive 1:1 nursing care and medical oversight throughout the school day

- Collaborate with paraprofessional staff for transfers and personal care
