School Registered Nurse (RN) in Gurnee, IL

Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity as a Registered Nurse working within a school environment near Gurnee, IL. This role offers a meaningful chance to support students’ health and wellness in a friendly academic setting from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You’ll work a consistent schedule from 8am to 3:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, supporting student well-being and collaborating alongside educators, families, and other professionals.

Bring your nursing expertise and experience in school settings to make a difference in the daily lives of students as a Certified School Nurse (CSN). Your skills will help manage chronic health conditions, provide care for sudden illnesses or injuries, and promote a safe, healthy learning environment.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• CSN credential preferred
• Several years of recent nursing experience within a school setting required
• Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary school team
• Experience developing and implementing care plans for students
• CPR/BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver day-to-day nursing care and first aid to students and staff
• Manage individual health plans and medication administration
• Assist with health screenings and immunization compliance
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents for student care
• Respond to medical emergencies efficiently and effectively
