Exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide dedicated one-on-one care for a school-aged student in the Elizabethtown area. This immediate opening focuses on student transportation assistance, supporting a child with Type 1 diabetes who requires constant supervision during travel to and from a specialized placement in Lancaster. Your expertise will directly impact a student’s safety and school experience during this critical 45-day assignment.

Key Qualifications:

• Current RN license in Pennsylvania (unencumbered)
• Prior school nursing or pediatric RN experience preferred
• Understanding and experience working with Type 1 diabetic students a strong plus
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in medical situations
• Exceptional attention to detail and vigilant monitoring skills
• Compassion and excellent communication abilities for working with students and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous nursing supervision to a student requiring diabetes management during transportation
• Monitor glucose levels, administer medication/insulin as needed, and document all interventions
• Collaborate effectively with transportation staff and receive/ handoff the student safely at both ends of the commute
• Maintain clear, professional communication with school representatives and the student’s caregivers
• Adhere to all student privacy and district health protocols

This contract position offers consistent hours split across morning and afternoon commutes (approximately 7:00-9:00 am and 1:00-3:00 pm), with a mid-day break—giving you work/life flexibility while making a meaningful impact. Immediate start date available for the right candidate.
