School Registered Nurse (RN) in Hartford, CT

Qualifications:

• Hold an active, unencumbered RN license in Connecticut
• Previous experience as an RN in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication abilities for engaging with students, parents, and staff
• Comfortable working independently and managing confidential information
• Current CPR/BLS certification required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care for students, including medication administration and urgent first aid
• Monitor and support chronic conditions, allergies, and health care plans for students
• Collaborate with educators and counselors on student health concerns and individualized health plans (IHPs)
• Conduct screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and assist with required immunization compliance
• Maintain accurate and timely health records following district and state guidelines
• Serve as a resource for staff training and promote campus-wide health initiatives
