Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support a school environment near Henderson, NV on a contract basis. This important opportunity involves providing medical care and support for students with specialized health needs. The ideal candidate will be an adaptable, resourceful RN with a background in school settings and a strong commitment to student well-being.

Key qualifications and skills:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Previous experience as an RN in school settings preferred
• Proficient in managing students with G-tubes
• Experience caring for students with Type 1 diabetes, including glucose monitoring and insulin administration
• Reliable and flexible availability to cover as needed
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, staff, and parents
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to health emergencies

Responsibilities include:

• Providing daily nursing care to students, with a focus on those with G-tubes and Type 1 diabetes
• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Monitoring student health status and responding to emergencies as needed
• Maintaining accurate health records and documentation
• Educating students and staff about health and safety protocols
• Acting as a medical resource for the school community
• Maintaining compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations
