Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN licensure in the state
- Experience with pediatrics, school-based nursing, or public health preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, and case management skills
- Ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies
- Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized health care plans
- Capacity to work collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals
- CPR/BLS certification required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide daily and emergency health care to students and staff
- Administer medications, treatments, and maintain accurate health records
- Support students with chronic health issues and develop care plans as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to promote preventative health education
- Monitor immunization compliance and manage health documentation
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings when medical expertise is required
- Promote a healthy and safe school environment, addressing health-related concerns as they arise
- Respond swiftly to injuries, illnesses, and manage communicable disease protocols
