Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active RN license valid in Mississippi
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Thorough understanding of best nursing practices, health assessments, and emergency response procedures
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and comply with confidentiality requirements
- CPR/BLS certification
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet a variety of student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care for students and staff, including first aid, medication administration, and chronic condition management
- Conduct health screenings, monitor immunizations, and maintain comprehensive health records
- Respond swiftly and efficiently to health emergencies or illness during the school day
- Educate students and staff on health topics, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) or 504 plans
- Follow protocol for infection control and communicable disease management
- Serve as a resource for promoting a healthy school environment
