School Registered Nurse (RN) in Hernando, MS

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, active RN license valid in Mississippi
• Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
• Thorough understanding of best nursing practices, health assessments, and emergency response procedures
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and comply with confidentiality requirements
• CPR/BLS certification
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet a variety of student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for students and staff, including first aid, medication administration, and chronic condition management
• Conduct health screenings, monitor immunizations, and maintain comprehensive health records
• Respond swiftly and efficiently to health emergencies or illness during the school day
• Educate students and staff on health topics, disease prevention, and wellness initiatives
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) or 504 plans
• Follow protocol for infection control and communicable disease management
• Serve as a resource for promoting a healthy school environment
