School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Hillsborough, North Carolina

This full-time role is located just 45 minutes north of Durham and centers on providing one-on-one care for a 5th grade female student with complex medical needs. As her dedicated RN, you'll support her throughout the school day (8:15am – 3:15pm), ensuring her safety, comfort, and participation in the educational environment.

This student requires attentive gtube and respiratory monitoring, alongside empathetic support for her non-verbal communication and visual impairments. You’ll play an integral role as both a medical advocate and compassionate ally, partnering with school staff and family to foster her success and well-being.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active RN license in the state of North Carolina
• Prior school nursing or pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Confidence in gtube management and respiratory assessment/intervention
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators and families
• Compassion, patience, and dedication to providing individualized care
• Quick to adapt and respond to students’ needs within a school setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day
• Monitor and manage gtube feedings and respiratory status
• Assist with daily activities, mobility, and classroom participation
• Implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and educators
• Document health status and interventions accurately and timely
• Respond calmly and effectively to any student health needs or emergencies
