This full-year contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact as a CTC Credentialed School Nurse, working with pre-k students across a variety of rural and community-based schools.
You’ll play an integral part in student health, wellness, and inclusion, collaborating with dedicated staff and adapting to the needs of a varied caseload. Your day-to-day will involve traveling between preschool programs and different districts, supporting the vision and hearing health of young learners and helping ensure all students access the support they deserve.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Valid CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) School Nurse credential
- Certificate in audiometry required for conducting vision and hearing screenings
- Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience with preschool or early childhood populations preferred
- Adaptable, resourceful, and eager to work in different school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vision and hearing screenings according to state guidelines
- Provide and document direct nursing care to pre-k students as needed
- Maintain and update health records, ensuring compliance with state and district policies
- Communicate effectively with educators, parents, and staff on student health concerns
- Travel between assigned sites within the county and surrounding areas
- Collaborate on health plans for students with special medical needs
