School Registered Nurse (RN) in Hopewell Junction, NY

Two contract opportunities are available for dedicated Registered Nurses to deliver exceptional healthcare and support for children and young adults within residential and day habilitation settings. These roles, based in the dynamic communities of New Windsor, Wappingers Falls, and Hyde Park, will have you making a meaningful difference in students’ lives from July 6, 2026, through June 26, 2027.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Prior experience with school-age individuals or within special needs programs preferred
• Familiarity with care coordination and medication management (med pour) procedures
• Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Manage a dynamic caseload across various student age groups, adapting care to meet differing needs
• Attend and actively contribute to Annual Life Plan meetings
• Oversee medication administration, conduct follow-up with staff, and ensure accurate, timely Med Book documentation
• Monitor, assess, and respond to ongoing health needs to promote student safety and positive health outcomes
• Partner with teachers, support staff, and agency providers to foster compliance and quality healthcare delivery

Position Details

Residential Registered Nurse: Itinerant role with a flexible day-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week. Day Habilitation Registered Nurse: Fixed site, Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM, for 36.25 hours weekly.
