Registered Nurse School Setting - Huntington, IN

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Valid RN license in Indiana (or eligible for reciprocity)
• Previous nursing experience—pediatric or school-based preferred, but all backgrounds considered
• Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to respond swiftly to emergencies and provide efficient first aid
• Compassionate demeanor and dedication to student well-being
• Proficient in documentation and electronic health records

Core responsibilities include:

• Providing direct care for students with acute illness, injuries, and chronic health conditions
• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Supporting students with individualized healthcare plans (IHPs)
• Collaborating with faculty and families to develop and communicate care strategies
• Maintaining accurate health records and preparing reports as needed
• Promoting wellness, disease prevention, and health education within the school community
• Acting as a resource and advocate for students’ health needs in the educational setting
