School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Independence, Missouri

Step into a dynamic school setting as a Registered Nurse, where you’ll support the health and well-being of students from Pre-K through 12th grade. This contract opportunity offers a hands-on role serving multiple sites, ensuring variety and meaningful impact each day. You’ll have the chance to float across the district, including accompanying students on exciting field trips and engaging with different school communities throughout the week.

Key Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Missouri, verified with no history of disciplinary action.
• Demonstrated pediatric experience (ICU, ER, or recent school nursing strongly preferred).
• Strong technology skills, confidence with computer-based charting and multitasking in a digital environment.
• Comfortable adapting to frequent schedule changes; flexibility and excellent communication are essential.
• Experience working independently and managing a health room solo.
• Not open to recent new graduates.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Oversee health needs for students of all ages as the primary nurse at assigned schools.
• Float between sites and step in as needed for field trips or unexpected staffing needs.
• Provide compassionate, prompt care and manage daily health tasks and emergencies.
• Complete thorough electronic documentation and coordinate closely with school teams.
• Flex schedules: earliest start is 7:00 AM, latest finish is 4:30 PM, with weekly schedules provided each Sunday (subject to change for events or call-outs).
