1:1 Care 1:1 School Registered Nurse (RN) in Ithaca, NY

This contract opportunity, starting on a date to be determined through May 20, 2026, offers the chance to work closely with a non-verbal elementary student requiring 1:1 nursing for trach monitoring, suctioning, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding. What you'll bring:

• Active RN license in New York State
• Experience with 1:1 care—preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Proficiency in trach care and suctioning; comfortable with ADLs such as feeding
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and compassion for young learners
• Ability to supervise and support academic and elective activities, ensuring the student’s safety throughout the school day
• Willingness to collaborate with teaching and therapy staff
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the student’s trach, including cleaning and routine suctioning as needed
• Assist with feeding and other daily care needs, while upholding the student's dignity and independence
• Accompany and supervise the student to elective classes, both in and out of the classroom, ensuring constant supervision and care
• Provide academic support as necessary, working alongside educators and aides
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication with school staff and guardians
• Promote a positive, respectful, and safe environment for the student

This contract role features weekly pay and eligibility for comprehensive benefits. You'll enjoy a Monday–Friday workweek from 7:30am to 2:30/3:00pm—with the option to leave early when duties are complete and still receive full daily compensation.
