School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Jackson, Mississippi

This contract position, located near Jackson, MS, offers the opportunity to work closely with students, families, and school staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing setting where students thrive academically and physically.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in Mississippi (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Previous experience providing nursing care in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Compassionate, adaptable, and professional demeanor
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
• Knowledge of state and federal laws related to student health and safety

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing services and first aid to students and staff
• Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to medical emergencies
• Maintain accurate health records in compliance with school and legal requirements
• Implement individualized health plans and provide education on wellness, disease prevention, and health management
• Act as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and school personnel
• Promote infection control practices and coordinate immunization compliance
• Participate in health screenings and assessments as needed
