Experience a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting student health and well-being in a vibrant educational setting near Jersey City, NJ. This full-time, onsite position offers 30-32 hours per week, running from ASAP through June 22, 2026, and will extend into the 2026-2027 school year. You'll work school hours, 8:45am to 2pm, providing vital nursing care within a supportive school community.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN/LVN license with a background in school nursing
- Proven ability to provide 1:1 care, supporting students with diverse medical needs
- Confident in managing asthma care and providing G-tube feedings, catheterization, toileting, and diapering assistance
- Skilled in seizure care and emergency response protocols
- Reliable and comfortable with daily bus riding alongside your assigned student
- Compassionate, dedicated, and attentive to both routine and complex healthcare needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely 1:1 with a male 7th grade student, ensuring his medical and personal care needs are met throughout the school day
- Ride the bus to and from school daily with the student, supporting safe transitions and care during transport
- Administer necessary medical procedures, such as G-tube feedings and seizure intervention, while maintaining accurate records
- Assist with hygiene, toileting, diapering, and other personal care tasks, promoting student comfort and dignity
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and other care providers to coordinate optimal support
