School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Jersey City, New Jersey

Step into a key role supporting student health in a dynamic school environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to a medically fragile student on a temporary contract assignment. This position is ideal for an RN with a passion for pediatric and school nursing, and is designed to cover a vacation period for an existing assignment nurse.

Your expertise will ensure one-on-one care, safety, and an enriching school experience for a student who requires ongoing medical attention. The schedule aligns with the school day (approximately 8/8:15 AM–3:30 PM, Monday through Friday), with in-person services only—virtual options are not available for this role. The assignment is set to begin on October 1, 2026, and conclude October 10, 2026. Exact shift times are to be determined.

Qualifications:

• Current New Jersey RN license is required
• Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
• Proficiency in G-tube care and management
• Commitment to ride the school bus with the student to and from school
• Dedication to in-person service delivery

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one medical care to a medically fragile student throughout the school day
• Safely administer G-tube feedings and other necessary treatments
• Accompany and supervise the student on the bus daily
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with school staff and parents as needed
• Promote a secure, compassionate, and supportive environment for student learning
