Two RN roles are available: one provides dedicated 1:1 care for a student (requiring trach and ventilator competency), and the other assists as a classroom nurse, supporting general student health and collaborating with educators and staff.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
  • Current BLS certification (must provide proof prior to starting)
  • Previous school nursing, pediatric, or clinical pediatric experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in tracheostomy and ventilator care required for the 1:1 position
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate compassionately with students, staff, and families
  • Excellent documentation, assessment, and care planning skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to students, either individually or in a classroom-based support role
  • For the 1:1 role: monitor and support a student requiring trach and ventilator care throughout the school day
  • Administer medications, respond to health incidents, and update health records
  • Participate in IEP or student support meetings as needed
  • Provide health education and promote a safe, positive school environment
