School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - La Mesa, California

You’ll serve as a clinical advisor, providing medical consultation and hands-on support at different school sites. Whether reviewing health documentation, helping manage Individual Health Plans for students with diabetes, or training health clerks on complex medical needs, your expertise will make a crucial difference in student wellbeing. The district offers a preferred Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with the possibility of extending to a full-time work week.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license required; clear CSN credential highly preferred (Preliminary CSN or qualified RN candidates also considered)
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is advantageous
• Strong understanding of diabetes care, IHP management, and emergency protocols
• Ability to effectively train and mentor health clerks and staff on student medical needs
• Organized, collaborative, and adaptable across multiple locations

Key Responsibilities:

• District-wide nursing support across several school sites
• Train and support health clerks on medical protocols and student-specific concerns
• Consult with staff and review student health records and care plans
• Oversee implementation of Individual Health Plans for students with chronic conditions
• Provide emergency response and routine nursing services as needed
