Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational setting near Lake Zurich, IL, for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time role runs from August 17, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with work hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. You'll work closely with students, staff, and families to provide essential healthcare and support in special education environments, ensuring a safe and welcoming school community.
Qualifications and Desired Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Prior experience in special education settings or school-based nursing preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and related services staff
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Compassionate approach and dedication to student well-being
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and health services to students, including medication administration and emergency response
- Develop and implement Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) in collaboration with special education teams
- Support the medical and educational needs of students with disabilities
- Maintain accurate health records and provide documentation as required by school policies
- Act as a liaison with families and care providers, promoting understanding of health plans and student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Educate staff and students on health, wellness, and safety concerns
