Key Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
• Strong assessment and triage abilities
• Skilled in health education and chronic condition management for students
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential medical records
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care, including medication administration and basic first aid
• Assess and manage student illnesses, chronic health issues, and injuries during the school day
• Develop and implement care plans for students with ongoing health needs
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student health and academic success
• Maintain up-to-date health and immunization records in compliance with school policies
• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and provide referrals as needed
• Educate students and staff on health promotion and disease prevention
