Registered Nurse School Setting - Lawrence, KS

We are seeking a dedicated RN with school nursing experience to take on a contract role supporting K-12 students and staff. This unique setting allows you to apply your clinical skills, collaborate with educators, and promote a healthy, safe learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Prior experience as a school nurse or working with pediatric populations preferred
• Knowledge of care management for chronic conditions (asthma, diabetes, allergies, etc.)
• Strong assessment and triage abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents, and school personnel
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school setting
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer direct care to students and staff for illness, injury, medication administration, and health emergencies
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions
• Monitor immunization records and ensure compliance with state and school health requirements
• Educate students, families, and staff about health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and coordinate with community health resources as needed
• Maintain confidential health documentation in compliance with privacy laws and school policies
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
